Apropos of Dr. Howard I. Maibach's answer to Dr. Robert L. Devine's query regarding therapeutic agents for human skin infestations (230:759, 1974), I would like to modify parts four and five of his answer as follows.

I don't believe that as dermatologists we ought to be recommending preparations for what is essentially pest control. Also, I doubt that any people other than professional pest control people should be using these products unsupervised.
