Health education staff, exhibits 'tell it like it is' to young people
Preventive medicine—it starts with a commitment to the care and nurture of the human body, and at the Robert Crown Center for Health Education in Hinsdale, Ill, children and young adults are motivated toward this goal through a unique learning experience.
Aided by sophisticated electronic devices and exhibits, a staff of six teachers gives instruction in drug abuse prevention, general health education, and family living and sex education. The teachers have received special training and are adept at being frank and honest with the students, answering each question with tact and precision.
The center is 1 year old, an outgrowth of the Hinsdale Health Museum established in 1958. It has already provided instruction to more than 80,000 students and teachers, and in 1975 it is expected to serve over 100,000 individuals (about one-fourth of them from Chicago's
