To the Editor.—
Because of an unfortunate oversight, I failed to give recognition to the American Refugee Committee in my article "Refugees in Thailand and Short-term Medical Aid" (1981;245:1052).
The American Refugee Committee operated the largest medical ward (120 beds) at Khao I Dang, the Eye Clinic in B Hospital, the Ophthalmology Unit in A Hospital, the Nursing School, and a substantial portion of the Thai Village program.
In my opinion the American Refugee Committee (310 Fourth Ave S, Room 410, Minneapolis, MN 55145) has made and continues to make one of the most important contributions to refugee aid in Thailand. The organization deserves the moral and financial support of Americans.
Since the publication of my article, a new clearinghouse has been established for professionals who wish to offer health aid to refugees. Those who wish to offer health aid abroad should address their inquiries to National Council for International
