To the Editor.—
Dr Levin's pessimism about the existence of a "runner's high" (1982;248:24) may be accurate, endorphins notwithstanding. I would suggest the following substitution for the runner's high when approaching a fellow runner (euphoric or not): give that person a runner's "Hi!"
