In Reply.—
The word casualty, in the military sense, refers to any condition that prevents a soldier from fighting and, therefore, does not necessarily imply injury. Boyd and Cowley have recently better summarized similar data by stating that of all those patients who reached a US military facility in the Korean conflict, 95.5% survived, whereas in the Vietnam conflict, 97.5% survived.1
