In Reply.—
We appreciate the importance of Dr Frank Adams' comments. We have seen in more than 20% of our adult AIDS victims significant, diverse organic CNS diseases. The patients we have described with the sheet sign were all carefully examined for these processes and found to be normal. We agree, however, with Dr Adams' caution and recognize that serious brain disorders can be mistaken for personality, congenitive, or affective changes.
