To the Editor.—
I enjoyed the anecdote about "Mr Cohen and the Headache"1 and managed to grasp the valid points that were made by Susan Adelman, MD. But I believe she has told us even more than she intended.
Wittily she has reminded us that treatment may legitimately begin before a diagnosis is made. Unwittingly, I believe, Dr Adelman has told us much about her diagnostic workup. I take issue with much that was said and done.
I wonder if Dr Adelman's physical examination detected that the vision was not lost in the left eye, but in half the visual field of each eye.
