In Reply.—
Dr Lutschg is correct. My editorial is "right on target" and times have changed. As the scientific evidence has become stronger, I have become increasingly active in attempting to spare people from a tobacco addiction that will shorten and cloud their future.
Should I have done more in the past? We all should have: politicians, educators, physicians, and patients. Let us make up for past mistakes by closing ranks to make our future efforts efficient, effective, and life saving.
