HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 1986 Education Issue Editorial

Dr Richard L. Egan's editorial identifies several factors in the environment of US medical education that threaten the current system. He argues that any changes in the locale and/or method of educating future physicians must take into account the patient as an essential resource for the educational program.
