In Reply.—

We are sorry for the omission of Fisher Scientific from the product and manufacturer lists in our article. We endeavored to provide as much information as we could collect to allow readers to identify systems and suppliers of interest easily. In developing the tables listing products, distributors, and manufacturers of office laboratory systems and supplies, we talked to innumerable sales representatives, including some from Fisher Scientific, over an 18-month period. Some manufacturers and distributors learned that we were interested in this information and began sending announcements and other product information without solicitation. During the collection process, we noted that many sales representatives were unaware of office laboratory products being offered by their companies. We therefore also called national sales offices attempting to secure information about their products.
