—We thank Dr Vandenbroucke for pointing out the interesting passage from the book by Woods and Russell. We do not know why Bayes' ideas have become lost in the teaching of medical statistics. Perhaps the recent proliferation of the statistical jungle has made it more difficult for physicians to see the forest for the P's.
