—I was deeply impressed by the article entitled "It's Over, Debbie."¹ I would like to extend my most enthusiastic congratulations to the author for having the courage to submit this account.

Faced with a similar situation as a resident some years ago, the morphine approach seemed to be the obvious solution. But I just didn't have the strength to relieve a young man's suffering in view of the possible repercussions of such an action.
