Pulse, the news magazine of the American Medical Association (AMA)—Medical Student Section, has been published periodically during the school year since 1975. With this issue, Pulse will begin appearing in the first issue of the month, September through May, not only in JAMAs sent to medical students but in those sent to the entire JAMA circulation as well.
Pulse has three major objectives: (1) to foster medical students and their membership in the AMA and to publicize and promote the activities of the AMA—Medical Student Section; (2) to provide a forum in which medical students can display their diverse talents, learn about one another's views and research, and unite in the difficult transition to physician-hood; and (3) to communicate student
