CHAIRPERSON'S COLUMN

This past December, the Medical Student Section (MSS) Assembly convened prior to the House of Delegates at the AMA Interim Meeting and brought forward nine resolutions for consideration by the House. Of major importance to medical students is Resolution 120, adopted by the House, which establishes a program of grants to medical student groups for projects and activities designed to further AMA policy. The funds—as much as $250 per project—are limited to one grant per school at any time. These grants will make it possible for students to develop and execute creative projects addressing topics such as smoking, AIDS education, organ donor awareness, the use of animals in research, substance abuse, or any other area of AMA policy.
