To the Editor.

—Attempts to educate students interested in pursuing a career in medicine such as those described and referenced in the Commentary by Alexander et al¹ are laudable and should be emulated by more institutions (and attended by more potential medical students). In this fashion, those choosing a career in medicine will be making a more informed decision based on realities of the profession rather than the antiquated and stereotypical concepts so often relied on in the choice of a career. In turn, medical schools will benefit by attracting students with a basic knowledge of medical practice and a greater sense of dedication to the field.
