To the Editor.
—The recent study by Graboys et al1 regarding the prevalence of unnecessary coronary angiography is a timely one. Last month, three cases appeared in the literature of a complication following femoral vessel catheterization for angiographic procedures: delayed-onset femoral nerve palsy secondary to iliac hematoma.2,3 The result was severe quadriceps paresis with long-term impairment. The risk of local complication is worth noting when discussing the overall necessity of this procedure, especially in patients without coagulation.
