—"Seldom has the balance between deliverance and disaster been so finely poised."¹ Bringing patients with presumed stroke to immediate medical attention will give them the chance to benefit from therapy for conditions that mimic stroke, from a team approach centered around a stroke unit, and from being enrolled in clinical trials that provide the best available care and, also, a chance of a therapeutic effect.
