—Dr Kong and colleagues¹ reported that elevation of CK following elective coronary artery intervention is associated with increased late cardiac mortality.¹ Earlier reports of placebo-controlled animal studies with pretreatment with coenzyme Q₁₀ (CoQ₁₀)^2,3 found that the animals pretreated with CoQ₁₀ had less ischemia-reperfusion cardiac injury.
