Excerpt
At the end of January 1994, JAMA accepted an article by Lee-Feldstein et al1 on various prognostic factors related to survival of patients with breast cancer. These authors examined differences in operative approaches to breast cancer between types of hospitals and how mortality varied. Their data support the use of breast-conserving operations, a practice which they note is based largely on six randomized trials
