To the Editor. —Dr Soumerai and collegues1 provide thoughtprovoking data regarding apparent harm from the underuse of β-blockers in elderly survivors of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Although we are aware of some inherent limitations of cohort studies using administrative databases, the authors might be able to provide additional information on some relevant issues.
