Error in Table in: Variation in Event Rates in Trials of Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Table Changes: In the Commentary entitled “Variation in Event Rates in Trials of Patients With Type 2 Diabetes” published in the October 21, 2009, issue of JAMA (2009;302[15]:1698-1700), a footnote should be added to the table and 1 number should be changed. On page 1699, in the Table, the last line “Fatal and nonfatal MI^b,d” should be “Fatal and nonfatal MI^b,d,e” and in the ninth column of this row, under the heading “Control” for the ADVANCE study, “5.5” should be “5.6.” The following footnote should be added to the footnote section: “^eFor the ADVANCE and PROACTIVE trials, only nonfatal MI was available for analysis.”
