Rotating 3-dimensional F18-fluorodeoxyglucose–positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) whole-body maximal intensity projection image of an individual with Li-Fraumeni syndrome. The arrowhead indicates an area of focal increased FDG uptake at the gastroesophageal junction. The lesion was diagnosed as a 3-cm stage IIA esophageal adenocarcinoma (T3N0M0). There is normal physiological FDG uptake in the brain, oropharynx, heart, urinary collecting system, and genitalia.
